LSBU hosts a number of social events to welcome you to the University and London
LSBU's Students' Union and the International Team host a number of activities and events to introduce you to the social side of University life.
At Welcome Week we showcase the range of fun and social activities available at LSBU through the Students’ Union, including the Fresher’s Fair, with stalls covering societies, sports, volunteering and local businesses. For full information on Welcome Week, download our App.
LSBU's Students' Union (SU) is run by students and provides social, sporting, political, recreational and cultural opportunities. The SU has its own bar and cafe and holds a wide range of diverse events and activities.

Student buddy scheme
Our International Student Buddies are international students who can help you to settle into life in the UK and at LSBU.
Your buddy will be able to:
- Talk to you about any problems you might be facing
- Help you to learn about life in the UK and London
- Help you to learn about services available at the University
- Introduce you to other international students through social activities
Please note, your buddy cannot provide study support or advise you on your academic issues.
Once a buddy is assigned to you they will:
- Keep in touch with you at least once a week in the autumn term
- Meet up with you every few weeks in the autumn term
You can join the scheme once you are enrolled. Request an international student buddy.
