First days

A group of student sitting in a café booth

During your first few days on campus you'll complete the final steps to becoming an LSBU student and receive your ID card

Visit the Maps and travel page for details on getting to the Southwark and Havering campuses and maps of the area. Once on campus look out for LSBU staff dressed in orange t-shirts. They will be happy to help you with any queries.

Step 1

Face-to-face enrolment

During your enrolment appointment your qualifications, identity and arrangements for paying fees will be checked. See our face-to-face enrolment page for details on what you'll need to bring. Once enrolment is complete you will receive your LSBU ID card. You must attend your enrolment appointment in person on the Southwark campus.

Step 2

Paying for University accommodation

If you have secured a room at one of the University's residences you will need to pay the fees before or upon arrival at your accommodation.

Step 3

Course induction

During your induction you will be introduced to your course, the academic team and a range of other important course-related and academic activities. If you are unable to attend your course induction you should visit your School's Student Administration Office who will put you in contact with your course director. Your personalised timetable will be available on the student portal MyLSBU under 'My Course'.

Step 4

Welcome Week

At Welcome Week we showcase the range of social activities available at LSBU through the Students’ Union, including the Fresher’s Fair, with stalls covering societies, sports, volunteering and local businesses. Download our App for a calendar of events.

Step 5

Follow us

Connect with us on our social media channels to keep up with the latest news and events from LSBU.

Step 6

Student services

We provide a number of non-academic student services at the Student Life Centre including advice on money, student finance, accommodation, immigration, mental health and wellbeing, disability and dyslexia and employability.

We can also assist with applications for discount travel cards and with the production of student status letters (to enable you to open a student bank account).
