We want enrolment to be as simple and as stress-free as possible.

We know that that you may have questions, so we've answered some of the most common below. Questions and answers are organised in sections:

Before enrolment

  • It is important that we have your up to date email address, so that we can send you information about how to enrol. If you applied through UCAS, you must update your details with them directly - our records are updated by their systems every day.

    If you applied in any other way, you can email us at enrol@lsbu.ac.uk - please quote your LSBU ID number.

  • If you have outstanding conditions you will need to provide evidence that you have met them to secure an unconditional place.

    If you are currently awaiting A level, BTEC or GCSE results, this information will automatically be communicated to us via UCAS.

    If your offer conditions are other qualifications or references you need to scan copies and email them to lsbuadmissions@lsbu.ac.uk.

  • The emails are generated to applicants with an accepted unconditional offer to study at LSBU; if you have an offer and have accepted it, you'll receive an email from us sometime in August or early September.

    Some email systems occasionally treat LSBU emails as spam, so it is worth checking your spam/junk folders on a regular basis, just in case.

Enrolling online

  • Assuming you have accepted an unconditional offer to study at LSBU, you will be sent an email with the web address and your login username and password.

    The first time you login, you will be prompted to change your password and create a security question.

  • If you forget your password, use the "Click here if you have forgotten your password" link on the login page. You will be asked to enter your email address and answer your security question. You'll then be sent an email with a new password.

  • Email enrol@lsbu.ac.uk with your name, details and LSBU ID and we'll email you a new password.

  • For the majority of our applicants it takes between 10 and 20 minutes to complete online enrolment. We recommend that you try and do it all in one go.

  • There are six tasks that you need to do to complete this part of enrolment. Some of these must be done in order, for example ‘Additional Information’ will only become available once ‘Confirm Your Place’ has been completed.

  • The online system works with most internet browsers, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari.

    An issue can occasionally occur if there has been an update to Internet Explorer.

    If you are using Internet Explorer and having problems, try using it in 'Compatibility Mode', which is accessible via the main menu bar. This should resolve the problem. Alternatively, please try accessing the system via another browser.

  • Please email enrol@lsbu.ac.uk with your name, details and LSBU ID and we can help.

Your details

  • Choose the option that best reflects your own circumstances. If you are attending an enrolment appoint and require support, please contact our Disability and Dyslexia Support Team – call 020 7815 6454 or email disability@lsbu.ac.uk.

  • No, just enter the name of the highest qualification you have already passed and where you studied. After that, select the entry from the list that best matches this.

  • In some cases, the system will not generate a fee quote. This is usually because there is a contract between LSBU and the funder already in place.

  • We have to carry out an assessment to determine whether you are classified as a home, EU or overseas student. We do this is to determine the level of fees payable (if appropriate) and for our regulatory returns.

  • Absolutely. The University is committed to protecting your information and privacy in line with the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA). LSBU processes all the personal data it holds in accordance with the DPA and within the terms of the Information Commissioner’s Office. Find out more about the University's data protection policies.

  • Your student ID is your official University identification document and will remain with you throughout your time at LSBU.

    We need a simple, front-facing head shot with nothing in the background. Before uploading your .JPEG image, check out the Passport Office’s picture advice page for examples of what we’re after.

Face to face enrolment

When registering your place online, we may ask you to attend a face-to-face enrolment session on campus.

  • Once you have completed online enrolment, you may be allocated a time and date to come in and complete face to face enrolment. We will not be able to see you outside of the appointed date/time.

    The time and date is, as closely as possible, matched with your School induction programme so that you can attend both events.

    If however you are not able to make your scheduled appointment, please contact enrol@lsbu.ac.uk as soon as possible, letting us know why you can’t attend so that we can try and book a new appointment for you.

  • Enrolment is the formal process through which you officially become an LSBU student. This is where we confirm your right to study in the UK, your qualifications and identification. Enrolment is also where your fee arrangements are taken and where any student loans will be released.

    Induction is a process designed to welcome you to the University and onto your course, making sure you have all the tools to succeed in your studies.

    It is important that you attend both enrolment and induction events.

  • On average, it takes between 30 minutes and one hour.

  • You should still come to your appointment and bring whatever you have.

    If there are items missing, don’t worry, we may be able to enrol you with outstanding requirements, meaning you can still attend lectures and make use of most of the University’s facilities.

    You will have to show us your missing documents at a later date, at which point we can update your record and fully enrol you.

  • We require all documents (qualifications and ID) to be originals. However, in exceptional circumstances, we can accept certified replacements. If you have lost your original qualification certificates you may be able to order new ones.

  • In order to comply with university regulations, all students are required to enrol. Even if you have been a student before, you will still need to complete enrolment before being able to access LSBU buildings, teaching or the relevant parts of MyLSBU and the VLE for your new course.

  • We carry out identification checks, so you must attend and cannot be represented by anyone else.

  • If you've missed your appointment, we will send you an email with a new time and date.

Other questions

  • If you are certain you won’t be coming here to study this year you can apply to defer your place until the next academic year, please email lsbuadmissions@lsbu.ac.uk as soon as possible. If you applied via UCAS, please ensure that you update your records there as well.

  • Your student number can be found on the email inviting you to pre-enrolment and on the email confirming the time/date of your face to face enrolment.
