Sports Ambassador Scheme
Our Sports Ambassador Scheme provides LSBU students and individuals within the local community, the opportunity to volunteer or be employed by the University to deliver sports coaching, fitness and mentoring sessions across London.
By joining the Sports Ambassador Scheme you could help schools meet the national activity level guidelines by supporting their in-house and extracurricular activities, and offer new and exciting activities within the local community.
Engaging in sports and coaching opportunities while in higher education can also provide you with the skills employers are seeking. Throughout the Scheme you will develop team work, leadership and organisational skills.
The scheme is open to all, whatever your level of experience. After interview you will be selected to join in one of the following roles:
|Volunteer||Voluntary Ambassadors||Support and shadow|
|Activator||Paid Ambassadors||Support and supervise|
|Level 1||Paid Level 1 Qualified coaches||Support, supervise and deliver fun sessions|
|Level 2||Paid Level 2 Qualified coaches||Deliver developmental coaching sessions|
|Rep||Represent the Sports Ambassadors at monthly meetings|
Engagement in sport provides a good career return on investment of around £4264 and £5616 per annum ... compared to those that did not engage in sport.

Ambassadors of any level can apply for subsidised training throughout the year, in return for working voluntary hours. Training sessions include leadership and sporting masterclasses delivered by experts and L1 and L2 coaching qualifications.
If your application is successful you will be invited for an interview.
Our Ambassadors can provide supervised, fun sessions led by qualified coaches to support your sporting provision or fitness sessions, either in the Academy of Sport or at your own facility.
Our large database of coaches enables us to be flexible to suit your needs and to provide you with a variety of sports.
All of the Ambassadors have an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, including barred lists, and a Safeguarding and Protecting Children qualification that is no older than the recommended best practice period of 3 years. Level 1 and 2 Ambassadors also have a National Governing Body (NGB) recognised coaching qualification and a First Aid certificate that is no older than the recommended best practice period of 3 years.
Please see our Ambassador roles above.
