Education and the Socialisation of Youth in the Third Reich, 2008-2009

This research was an exploration of the education and socialisation of youth in Nazi Germany

It conceptually linked schools and youth groups, demonstrating how each reinforced the other.

It examined how education policy was made, analysed the changes made to the education system, and assessed how successful the Nazi regime was in attaining its educational goals.

The research was funded by a grant from the British Academy, as well as internally through the SPUR Institute. It is published as a monograph.

The project was carried out on behalf of LSBU's Families and Social Capital Research Group. To find out more about this work, contact Dr Lisa Pine, or search our People Finder for academics researching in this area.
