Barriers to Employment: Black Asian Minority Ethnic Employment Skills, 2007
This project examined the employment skills of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups
Specifically long-term unemployed and incapacity benefit claimants living in the London Borough of Lambeth.
This was funded by the Lambeth Borough of Lambeth in partnership with Lambeth First: Employment Skills Board.
This qualitative study involved 56 interviews with participants to explore the high incidence of BAME unemployment within the borough, the barriers they face to employment, and the provision of current and future services to narrow gaps in employment rates.
The project was carried out on behalf of LSBU's Families and Social Capital Research Group. To find out more about this work, contact Dr Tracey Reynolds, or search our People Finder for academics researching in this area.
