Coach education

The Academy is committed to and recognised as a leading centre of excellence for coach education in London. We currently have an extensive number of education and training opportunities and are actively developing further programmes with the Academy's external partners to develop a wide ranging portfolio of courses. As well as generic and specific courses, we are flexible and can design and tailor a programme to meet the specific needs of a group of coaches on request.

National Skills Academy Course Offer (2011-2012)

Taekwondo Team

The Courses listed below form part of the LSBU/National Skills Academy Offer and qualify for Mayors Legacy funding. Funding of up to 75% of the full cost of the course can be obtained based on volunteering hours pledged in the booking form (See conditions contained in the 'inroduction' tab of the booking form on the course web page and How to book onto your National Skills Academy course web page.).

NGB Courses

CPD

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses are normally short courses of around 3 hours duration and are mandaotory by some coaching and employing bodies. Attendance at regular CPD cpportunities shows a conscious committment to professionalism by continuously seeking to improve ones knowledge and remain up to date.

Minimum Operating Standards for Deployment

'Minimum Standards for Deployment' are defined as requirements which apply to all coaches, regardless of their level of qualification or their sport and which are seen as the basic standards a coach needs to meet to be able to carry out their role safely and effectively.
