London South Bank University (LSBU) graduate Steven Devonshire's thriving 'one-stop sports design shop' has now gone international, scooping the contract to design the Malta national rugby league kit.
Steven launched Code13 Sports Media in 2007 after signing up to LSBU's Enterprise Associate Scheme, a two-year programme which supports the University's graduates in exploring and developing the commercial potential of their final year project.
Since then Steven has completed his MSc in Enterprise at LSBU. Steven had previously graduated from LSBU with a first class honours BSc in Engineering Product Design in 2004.
Code13 Sports Media is a unique company which offers a complete design service for Rugby League and other sports clubs, through from website design and graphic design to printing and Code13 teamwear.
When the new season starts next February the Maltese team will be one of many donning Steven's designs, and he is also currently in talks with other international teams as rugby league develops throughout the UK and internationally. Code13 are also official web partners to the Maltese Rugby League, along with other teams in the UK.
Code13 Sports Media has also just launched a new Rugby League website - www.code13rugbyleague.com - which has attracted renowned sports reporters Angela Powers from Sky Sports and the BBC Radio 5's George Riley, to contribute blogs.
The website offers the latest news from all levels of the game, and Steven hopes that it will help this niche sport to achieve more mainstream and media support, and also provide a platform for clubs and fans to interact.
Steven Devonshire said: "It's been a fantastic year for Code13, from our work with Harlequins RL early in the year for Jon Wells' testimonial, to launching our website and becoming a player on the international Rugby League stage.
"Rugby League is my passion and I think my commitment to the sport has helped me attract interest from major names in the UK and abroad.
"The support I received from LSBU's Enterprise Associate Scheme was fundamental to the successful launch of my company. It's not just the financial assistance and office support, but also the mentoring which has enabled me to push and expand my business. I'm very excited about what 2011 will bring."
