Learning & Teaching Conference 2010

Learning & Teaching Conference 2010, One Curriculum for All

One Curriculum for All:
an inclusive approach - richer learning, improved retention, enhanced progression

The sixth annual LSBU Learning & Teaching Conference was held Friday 11th June 2010.

At the Learning & Teaching Conference there wais an exciting opportunity to hear Dr Val Chapman present a keynote paper on the positive impact of developing and delivering an inclusive curriculum. Dr Chapman, Director of the Centre for Inclusive Learning Support at the University of Worcester (UW), focused her National Teaching Fellowship research on the development of a web-based resource, SCIPS that aims to help academic staff address the needs of disabled and other traditionally disadvantaged students through inclusive curriculum design and programme delivery. The morning will include time for questions and discussion.

The afternoon of the conference will provide an opportunity for you to find out more about the current ‘inclusive curriculum’ project that is underway at LSBU. Dr Chapman will lead a workshop exploring ways in which we can take this project forward to best address our students’ needs and to enhance the overall learning experience. The afternoon session has limited places and can be booked separately.
