Via Gale Cengage Learning. Provides full text and abstracts access to articles from journals and reference sources. With extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects.

Amadeus [electronic resource].
AMADEUS is a comprehensive, pan-European database containing financial information on over 10 million public and private companies in 38 European countries. Includes the top 250,000 companies.

BANKSCOPE [electronic resource].
Bankscope gives detailed financial information on over 11,000 public and private banks worldwide.

Business Source Premier [electronic resource].
Via EBSCOhost databases. Provides full-text for approximately 2,300 scholarly business journals covering management, economics, finance, accounting, international business and marketing. Includes Dun & Bradstreet company information.

Emerald [electronic resource].
Access to management research journals from MCB University Press. The service provides access to over 20,000 management articles, with a full text archive going back to 1994.

Fame - Financial Analysis Made Easy [electronic resource].
Financial analysis of the UK's leading companies. Results of the top 1.7 million UK and Irish companies for the last ten years showing balance sheets, profit and loss accounts and other useful information. Updated weekly.

Thomson One Banker [electronic resource].
Real-time global financial data, including historical share prices, mergers and acquisitions details, company filings and news. Covers both public and private companies Data up to a maximum of 40 years back in some cases. Mergers and acquisitions data 1985- Analysis and forecasts also provided. Downloading to Excel permitted.

Zephyr [electronic resource].
ZEPHYR is an information solution containing M&A, IPO and venture capital deals with links to detailed financial company information.

Business Insights / Datamonitor 360 [electronic resource].
Business Insights / Datamonitor 360 market reports cover seven main industry sectors; E-commerce/technology, financial services, healthcare, consumer goods, human resources, energy and telecommunications.

CommunityWISE [electronic resource].
Contains community, charities and voluntary agency information. Data is provided by bodies such as Barnados, Community Development Foundation and the National Centre for Volunteering.

Economist.com [electronic resource].
Full text of the UK edition of The Economist from 1997 onwards.

EIU Country Data [electronic resource].
Annual, quarterly and monthly economic indicators and forecasts from the Economist Intelligence Unit. Covers 117 countries, with 270 series starting from 1980 and forecasting to 2006.

GreenFILE [electronic resource].
Via EBSCOhost, Greenfile is a freely accessible research database focusing on the relationship between human beings and the environment, with information on topics ranging from global warming to recycling to alternate fuel sources and beyond. It is comprised of scholarly and general interest titles, as well as government documents and reports.

Financial Times [electronic resource].
Full text of the Financial Times (London edition) from June 1996 onwards. Updated daily. Coverage is text only, and does not include the Companies & Markets section - for historic share prices please see the Thomson One Banker e-resource.

RefWorks [electronic resource].
RefWorks is an online research management, writing and collaboration tool designed to help researchers easily gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as generate citations and bibliographies.

ScienceDirect (Science Direct) [electronic resource].
Database containing over 1000 full text journals from Elsevier Science and the leading scientific, technical and medical publishers. Covers life, physical, technical and social sciences.

SpringerLink [electronic resource].
Provides online, full-text access to Springer's journal titles as well as journals from other publishers. Subjects include: life sciences, chemical sciences, environmental sciences, geosciences, computer science, mathematics, medicine, physics & astronomy, engineering and economics. Some titles are in abstracts only.

Accountancy Age
Online version of the weekly UK commercial and independent newspaper. Contains news, features, jobs and careers section, and Web directory of top accounting firms, groups and bodies.
Accounting Standards Board
The web site of the ASB, which issues accounting standards, provides a number of useful links. The full text of SSAPs (Standard Statements of Accounting Practice) and FRSs (Financial Reporting Standards) are under the publications button; UITF lists publications from the Urgent Issues Task Force. A special 'Students' section supplies a list of FAQs.
Accounting Web
Major news site for accountancy professionals. Access to databases and some information is by subscription only. Web search facility useful for all accountancy matters is freely available.

Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research
Glasgow University's Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research web site provides many information sources for those researching environmental accounting, ethical investment and similar topics. Includes SEA Journal and a separate members section.
DTI
Department of Trade and Industry major site which gives basic information about industries and guidance on latest government regulations.
International Accounting Standards Committee
Includes lists of their standards with brief summaries.
UK Taxation Directory
Comprehensive set of links to sites and material of interest to tax professionals and others wanting on-line information on tax matters. Also contains international links.

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
Contains ACCA career, training and qualification information, and full text of some research reports published by ACCA.
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
CIMA home site, includes text of their management guides and a small full text articles database.
Deloitte and Touche
Large management consultancy firm. Site contains some useful reports, including annual review of football finance.
Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales Information Service
Useful general site providing links to other professional accountancy sites.
KPMG
Business advisers. Gives details of their services and some examples of their full reports.
Price Waterhouse Coopers
Business articles, reports and surveys. Includes a number of recent useful survey reports and topical articles written by PW Coopers consultants. Also features a UK pocket tax guide. Contains links to international site for the company

Corporate Governance
American site drawing together online sources for written materials on corporate governance. Includes links to other libraries, annotated bibliography, documents and full text reports and articles.
The Corporate Library
An up to date collection of American full text reports and news briefs on corporate governance.
Encyclopedia of Corporate Governance
This encyclopedia is the work of Henrik Mathiesen, a Ph.D. candidate in Denmark at Copenhagen Business School, Department of International Economics and Management. The site has a helpful, consistent structure. Topics covered include; decision systems, ownership structures, capital structures and product markets. Words and phrases of corporate governance are linked to relevant places that clarify their meaning. The encyclopedia can be viewed for free but the contents are protected by copyrights
European Corporate Governance Institute
A non-profit organisation bringing together scholars and practitioners who are interested in European and comparative corporate governance issues. Includes news section and useful data on ECGI research projects.
