Welcome to Student Advice (SA)

The Student Advice Workers are responsible for providing information, advice & guidance to help students develop strategies for improving their academic and personal skills which are essential for successful adaptation to university life, personal effectiveness and further study. The Student Advice Workers are able to help you with personal and emotional issues, Financial and money management, well-being issues and exam anxiety. They are able to advise all LSBU students across all faculties and levels of study, the service offered is a free and confidential service. It is not a counselling service but the Student Advice Workers are able to help any student find a counselling service if required.

International Scholarships Programme LBSU is offering a New International Scholarship Programme, to students joining us in the 2011 academic year and all new applicants are eligible to apply.

Free Student Advice Tax Service offered by Student Tax Services, are an independent company recommended by the CLSD Student Advice team.

If you cannot find the answer to any of your questions in our student tax library, then our professional staff will be happy to answer your queries by email, as our research has shown this to be the most effective and efficient method of communication to suit your timetable.
However there may be occasions when our professional staff may contact you by telephone in order to discuss your tax affairs if there is an area of complexity or to assist your understanding. To submit your query please use the “Help I’m a Student” form below.
Please note this is a free service for routine matters described above.

Advice Sessions:

The Student Advice Workers are able to offer different types of sessions to enable you to seek advice. These are:-

  • Quick Query Sessions
  • One-to-One Sessions
  • Specialist Personal Advice and Guidance
  • Support for International Students

Please note that at LSBU Havering all advice is offered in one to one sessions with the adviser who covers that site.

London Nightline is a confidential listening support and information helpline run by students for students. It is open every night of term from 6.00pm to 8.00am.
