Entry Requirements

In addition to meeting the standard English Language entry requirements, students typically hold one of the following academic qualifications:

Foundation entry

  • Indian Standard XII (average of 50-59%)
  • International Baccalaureate Certificate

Undergraduate entry

  • Indian Standard XII (minimum average of 60-65% depending on exam board)
  • two to three passes at GCE A Level (minimum grade C)
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma (24-30 points)
  • Accredited UK Foundation programme (minimum 55-65%)
  • Accredited Polytechnic/College Diploma (two years duration - minimum grade 60%)

Postgraduate entry

  • honours degree from a prestigious Indian university (55% minimum)
  • honours Degree from a recognised Indian university (1st Class)
  • honours Degree from a recognised international university (equivalent to UK First Class, Second Class Upper or Second Class Lower Division)

Research entry

  • honours degree (1st Class) plus a Taught Masters Degree (1st Class) from a recognised Indian university
  • honours degree plus a Taught Masters Degree from a recognised international university (equivalent to UK First Class, Second Class Upper or Second Class Lower Division)

English Language

Visa Information

As an Indian national you will need to obtain a student visa or equivalent to be able to study with us at LSBU. On 31 March 2009 the UK Border Agency launched the new Points Based immigration route for students seeking initial entry clearance to the UK.

Please note that the Tier 4 category of the points bases system is still under development and that requirements are subject to change at short notice. You should always consult the latest Tier 4 policy guidance at www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk before making an application for Tier 4 entry clearance.
