LSBU Future Global Graduate Awards

In recognition of the continued commitment of international students to London South Bank University we are proud to launch the LSBU Future Global Graduate Awards.

The awards are given in the form of a tuition fee discount to international students on acceptance of their offer and receipt of their deposit by a set deadline. Students may only accept one of the awards.

The Vice-Chancellor’s International Merit Award

The Vice Chancellor’s International Merit Award recognises outstanding academic achievement of students obtaining grades equivalent to AAB and above at UK A-level (approximately 75% or above in other international school leaving certificates) and comprises an award of £2,000 for each academic year.

The Global Success Scholarship

The second award, The Global Success Scholarship, is worth up to £4,000 and awarded to international students to provide them a springboard to kickstart their global career at LSBU, meaning the practical career-focussed courses provide even greater value.

The Global Success Scholarship

Undergraduate and postgraduate
A range of awards up to £4,000 varying by subject area at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.

Open to all international students on acceptance of offer and payment of early deposit amount by set deadline.

The awards allow students to fast track their student visa to enable them to start their studies on time.

In order to be eligible, you must be an international student fee payer at undergraduate or postgraduate level, meet the conditions of your offer and complete payment of your deposit (£2,000) within four weeks of meeting all the conditions.

The awards are designed to ensure that all international students can benefit from the high-quality, career focused education that London South Bank University offers.

We also offer the opportunity to live in affordable, high quality student accommodation within a short walk from campus. International students are guaranteed a place in one of our three accommodation blocks for the duration of their course.

In addition, given our central London location, while studying at LSBU students are ideally placed to get paying jobs with a local employer and are prioritized for jobs on campus.

Our student support services are second to none, providing support across all areas, from mental health to study skills and employability.

We have students from 130 countries and around 50 communities and societies to enhance the student experience here at LSBU ensuring that all students will settle in and feel welcome in their new home.

How to apply

External scholarships for US students

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship offers thousands of scholarships for students who are eligible for Federal Pell Grants at their home institution. The deadline for Spring students is in early October. The deadline for Summer and Fall students is in March.
BUTEX International Scholarship
As a BUTEX affiliated university we are able to offer you the opportunity to apply for the £500 BUTEX International Scholarship. The Scholarship is open to all International (non-EU) Study Abroad students who are not funded by an ERASMUS grant. To be eligible to apply you must have been offered a study abroad place here. The deadline for applying for this scholarship is mid-June every year.
Chevening Scholarships
The UK Government's global scholarship programme is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The Scholarships offer nationals from a variety of countries highly coveted opportunities to study for a Master's degree at a UK university. They can develop their skills, create new networks, strengthen their opportunities and expand their horizons. Application information is on the Chevening website.
Foundation for Global Scholars
The Foundation for Global Scholars attempt to inspires and equip young adults to tackle global challenges through international experience, leadership skills, and cultural competence. They offer various scholarships.
Fund for Education Abroad
The Fund for Education abroad are committed to increasing the opportunities for dedicated American students to participate in high-quality education abroad programmes. They offer many scholarships for various amounts.
Go Overseas
Each semester, Go Overseas offers scholarships to Study Abroad students based on the creativity and analytical thinking demonstrated through writing samples and/or video submissions.
Tortuga Backpacks
Tortuga Backpacks believe that students deserve to experience the world beyond their college campuses, but appreciate that not everyone can afford to travel. Funds may be used for tuition, accommodation, books, or travel. Deadlines are in May and December.
