London South Bank University (LSBU) is proud to be the site of the world's first Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Confucius Institute of the Year Award Winner 2009. This is a joint initiative with Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, Harbin Normal University and the Office of Chinese Language Council International, China (OCLCI, commonly known as Hanban).

Our degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine majoring in Acupuncture is the first course offered by the Institute. This unique course not only puts the study of this ancient medicine in context with its cultural past but also includes lessons in Mandarin and a period of study in China. Graduates will be qualified to practice in both China and the UK.
