LSBU Graduate Loyalty Scheme
A recent report by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA 2010) stated that, on average, Masters graduates earn 15% more during their lifetime than those with an undergraduate qualification alone. This equates to more than £200,000 earnings over an average career.
We want all our graduates to have the best possible chance of maximising their career success. Our Graduate Loyalty Scheme reduces the burden of further Tuition Fees and encourages our undergraduates into further study. Eligible undergraduate students and alumni receive a discount on their postgraduate Tuition Fees when they enrol on one of our postgraduate taught courses starting this year.
Under the Scheme we offer:
- 10% Alumni Discount – all LSBU graduates (including those graduating this summer), who have completed their undergraduate studies at LSBU since 2007 are automatically eligible for a 10% discount off a postgraduate taught course at LSBU.
- 25% Progression Discount New for 2012 – from September 2012 all final year LSBU undergraduates who achieve a 2:1 or higher and progress directly onto an LSBU postgraduate taught course are eligible for a 25% discount off their fees.
- a guaranteed course place – provided the entry criteria is met we guarantee an offer of a place. Some courses may have additional entry requirements, such as an interview or portfolio presentation. These must also be met before a place can be offered.
- 5% early payment discount – applied to Tuition Fees if they are paid in full before enrolment

Eligibility exceptions
There are some circumstances where Home, EU and overseas will not be eligible for a Tuition Fee discount.
Home and EU students
In the below circumstances you would not be eligible for a fee discount:
- postgraduate courses where fees are paid via a contract negotiated with LSBU, such as a health authority
- postgraduate courses lasting less than 12 months
- continuing students already enrolled on a postgraduate course at LSBU
- students already receiving the Vice Chancellor's Postgraduate Scholarship
- PGCE
- PGDip Architecture
- non publicly funded courses
Please note: the discount does not cover any registration fees or residential costs that apply to certain courses.
Overseas students
In the below circumstance you would not be eligible for a fee discount:
- postgraduate courses delivered by our Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences
How to access the LSBU Graduate Loyalty Scheme
The scheme is open to all Home, EU and International undergraduates, as well as both self-funding students and those sponsored by their employer.
There is no selection process. You must simply ensure your application clearly indicates you are progressing to further full or part-time postgraduate study after successfully being awarded an undergraduate degree from LSBU since 2007.
The 10% or 25% discounts are fee waivers on full or part-time taught postgraduate courses at LSBU and will be applied on enrolment.
The 5% early payment discount will be applied to the reduced tuition fee if your full fee is paid before enrolment. International students may be eligible to receive multiple discounts. Find out more about financial incentives for International students
