Transport Engineering and Planning

The Transport Engineering and Planning group was established in summer 2010. It maintains a strong focus on:

  • the experimental analysis of factors which affect infrastructure design
  • the assessment and modelling of perceptions of risk and effort as they influence mode and route choice
  • the development and implementation of prospective study methodologies for assessment of transport interventions
  • the longitudinal analysis of transport data sets for monitoring purposes

Collaborations and partnerships

The group has undertaken work for a number of clients including: Department for Transport, Swedish Government (via the Swedish Road and Traffic Research Laboratory), Sustrans and Transport for London.

The team welcomes any opportunity for academic/industrial collaboration including multidisciplinary research networks, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and consultancy activities.
