The Faculty's new microbiology suite in the Department of Applied Sciences was turned into a TV studio at the end of last year, when the University hosted the production team for the current BBC Series 'The Food Inspectors'.
The series, which follows the work on food inspectors, is airing on Wednesdays at 7.30pm on BBC One.
Each week the programme will feature a 'pathogen of the week', presented by Chris Hollins, the BBC Breakfast sports presenter.
These segments were filmed at LSBU and were composed using a script and background information written by LSBU's Dr Ken Spears, Senior Lecturer in Applied Science.
The filming also took place during a lab practical where second year Food Science undergraduates were conducting a series of culturing techniques to isolate and identify bacteria.
