Sharing our expertise through partnerships allows us to have a real impact on key business situations and change the world around us.
A current partnership involves LSBU with the Space Group who design, install and service retail refrigeration and air conditioning. Until recently the design of supermarket systems was based mainly on cost with little consideration given to performance over the life of the product. Global warming, increasing energy costs and the depletion of non renewable resources mean Space Group need to develop integrated solutions. We're involved with investigating novel systems and developing low cost and low carbon solutions. We'll be testing their performance and developing system characteristics that enable optimum design and performance.
We're also a partner in the London Engineering Project (LEP). This partnership of schools, colleges, universities, science and engineering education charities, industry and Government aims to create more people with engineering skills in the capital. It's a pipeline that takes students from school, through FE and HE and into engineering professions.
