Partnerships

The position we hold in the community is very important to us and our strong partnerships are at the heart of this.

Academic partnerships

We are strongly committed to engaging young people with science and engineering. We championed the introduction of the 14-19 Diplomas, advised on their development and are part of the Southwark and Lambeth Engineering Diploma consortium. We also offer a range of incentives to inspire young people through activities such as our annual Summer School, the Solar Car Challenge and the Salter's Chemistry Festival, which we host with the Royal Society of Chemistry.

We are a partner in the London Engineering Project (LEP) with the Royal Academy of Engineering and the National STEM Project. This partnership of schools, colleges, universities, science and engineering education charities, industry and Government aims to create more people with engineering skills in the capital. It's a pipeline that takes students from school, through FE and HE and into engineering professions.

We are also a partner of the South East London Lifelong Learning Network. This government-funded partnership aims to increase the number of people progressing to and through higher education.

Business partnerships

Working with businesses allows us to have a real impact on their strategic position. We share our expertise and knowledge to bring about change to real business benefit. In a current partnership we're working with the Space Group who design, install and service retail refrigeration and air conditioning. We're involved with investigating novel systems and to develop a low cost and low carbon solution.
