    Victim Support Southwark (VSS) supports victims of crime, their families and witnesses of crime within the London Borough of Southwark.

    This organisation can help with many cases of anxiety and depression. You can refer yourself or ask your GP to refer you. They also run free workshops on dealing with stress and improving self confidence at Peckham library. For more information contact Seon Lynch on the number stated above.

    Provides excellent information on depression and how to cope.

  • The Havens
    Provides a counselling service for women, men and young people who have been raped or sexually assaulted.  Students need to ring their nearest centre and book an appointment.
    The 3 centres are based at the following hospitals:

  • National Domestic Violence Helpline 0808 200 0247
    The Freephone 24 Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline, run in partnership between Women's Aid and Refuge, is a national service for women experiencing domestic violence, their family, friends, colleagues and others calling on their behalf.

    Provides counselling and support services which set out to explore issues of same sex- relationships, sexual identity and promote personal growth and self confidence.

Multi-Ethnic Counselling

    Provide general individual counselling, time-limited to 18 weekly sessions. The cost of sessions start from £10. Offers multi-ethnic counselling service for BME communities and multi-lingual counselling for refugees and asylum seekers. This service is free. Self referral or via GP or other professionals.

  • Walcot Foundation Fund
    If you live in Lambeth and you are in receipt of means-tested benefits or earning low wages, you are eligible to apply for a grant of up to £2000.

    Provides free confidential and independent advice on how to deal with debt problems.

    The Educational Grants Advisory Service (EGAS) offers a range of services providing information on funding for those in post-16 education in England.  EGAS specialises in funding from charitable trusts and maintains a database of trusts and charities that assist students.

    Directgov is the website of the UK government for its citizens, providing information and online services for the public all in one place.  They cover all topics ranging from education to funding.

  • Professional and Career Development Loans
    Information provided by the government on Professional and Career Development Loans.

  • Prospects
    Graduate Prospects is the UK's leading provider of information, advice and opportunities to students and graduates. Postgraduate and employment study guides are available online, digitally, and in print from all UK careers services, careers fairs and on campuses across the UK. They have an excellent section on postgraduate funding and produce a funding booklet every year.
