
At LSBU we recognise that student life may throw up all kinds of issues and problems that adversely affect your academic performance.
We offer confidential one-to-one sessions to students experiencing emotional and psychological distress, we are able to listen to your problems and difficulties, assess your needs and recommend the best means of support.
Some students may require a few sessions to ‘get things off their chests’, others may need more specialist advice, for which we can recommend you to see our Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator.

Our advisers can provide help with academic related issues such as changing course, transferring from one university to another, interruption of studies (fully or partially), repeating a year or number of units, claiming mitigating circumstances etc. The advice will also cover financial implications of these circumstances
We also provide services to support academic and faculty administrative staff with information and advice on the personal development of students and on professional services available for external referrals.
Each semester, we produce a programme of information sessions covering many ways student can save money or maximise their income. In this academic year, the following topics were selected for their appropriateness to the needs of LSBU students: energy/consumer rights, shopping/travel/value London, wellbeing, income maximisation, childcare and moving on (for our final year students).

The sessions are for student struggling with exam anxiety. The sessions are aimed at enabling students to understand trigger of HE student anxiety, develop strategies for managing anxiety, enhance their revision plan and improve exam performance.
