Welcome to the CGCM

The Centre for Government & Charity Management (CGCM) brings together the research track record, practitioner experience and innovative practice in postgraduate teaching of two groups within the former Business School; the Centre for Public Services Management and the Centre for Charity and Trust Research. The merger in 2002/2003 between these two groups (founded in 1992 and 1993 respectively) confirms and consolidates our long history of joint working. It occurs at a time when public, voluntary and community sector boundaries are being tested and explored as never before. Also when partnerships across these sectors carry distinct and demanding challenges for the managers who come to study with us. We offer a full range of Civil Society Management Courses including, charity finance and accounting, and charity marketing and fundraising courses. The CGCM is led by Professor Alex Murdock (pictured).
