Proteomics and Genomics

Unit Outline

  • The unit is presented over 12 weeks in a series of lectures (2 hours per week) with tutorial support (1 hour per fortnight), plus two 1-hour revision sessions in week 13. The tutorials will be introduced by brief student presentations on topical issues related to the core unit material.
  • The tutorial sessions and assignments should not be thought of a merely backing up the lecture material. New material will be introduced.
  • At least one examination question may be based totally on tutorial or assignment material!
  • If you unavoidably miss any parts of this course, you are advised to catch up before you are next able to attend.
  • The remaining time (118 hr) is self-managed learning time for your background reading, completing any assignments and preparation for presentations. This time is necessary for reinforcing the lectures and investigating the database resources. Examination questions will include material that we expect you to cover during this time.
