Expected Learning Outcomes

  • Appreciate the structure of proteins and the human genome.
  • Describe how proteins can be purified.
  • Describe how the structure of the human genome has been uncovered.

  • Discuss the ways genomic information may be translated into protein structure and function.
  • Discuss the human genome and proteome projects and their ramifications in health and disease.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of protein engineering extending to the ability to suggest methods for novel engineered enzymes.
  • Understanding bioinformatics, proteomics and genomics
