By coming to LSBU you're joining a university that knows how to value and support its students. We're aware how important it is for you to have the right skills and attitude for your chosen profession.
We run programmes in planning, housing, built environment studies, tourism and hospitality. Our planning and housing courses have been accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) for over 40 years. We also hold accreditations from the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Again in recognition of our vocational strength we are the official Higher Education partner of the Organisation for Tourism and Hospitality Management.

Not only do our Tourism and Hospitality students have access to some of London's (and therefore the tourism industry's) best placement opportunities, and the opportunity to take part in live consultancy projects in London, but the £1.5 billion, 55-acre Elephant and Castle and Borough re-development area forms a rich ground for applied projects in the housing and planning fields too.
Our course offering is strong and varied. We ensure it reflects the needs of today's employment market and it's very flexible in terms of delivery to make sure that we can include professionals who wish to run work alongside their studies. Our courses are further set apart by the field trips we run in both the UK and Europe and our work placement schemes which give students valuable work experience.
You'll find our staff are expert in their relevant professions and industries. Through their professionalism we have developed links with UK and overseas universities and industries. Their research activities and consultancy work bring added knowledge and benefits to our course content, keeping it current by responding to changes in the world's economic environments. That's why you'll find we are one of just a handful of universities that offer accredited housing degrees in the UK.
