We have a unique and wide-ranging portfolio of innovative courses, some of which you will only find at LSBU.
All our undergraduate degree courses are accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). Our Masters course in Addiction Psychology & Counselling meet the required training component for professional accreditation by the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP). Our Masters course in Investigative Forensic Psychology is one of only two MSc courses in this subject within the country and the only one in the South of England.
Each course is delivered through high quality, research-led teaching. Our staff are very helpful and approachable. They are experts within the field of psychology and well known for their research activities.
Our undergraduate courses cover the core psychology topics defined by the British Psychological Society. In addition to our BSc Psychology course, which is the choice for most of our students, we offer two specialist routes: Psychology with Child Development and Psychology with Clinical Psychology for students who already know the area of Psychology in which they wish to specialise. Both courses follow the same programme as our BSc Psychology course for the first two years, and guarantee options and a project in a developmental or clinical subject in year three.
For students who wish to combine subjects, we offer our Psychology with Criminology combined degree course, which has Psychology as a major subject (75%) and Criminology as a minor subject (25%).
Our masters courses in Addiction Psychology & Counselling, and Investigative Forensic Psychology, reflect the department's strong research areas and offer developed theoretical and applied knowledge in these areas.
