Accreditation and recognition

Our courses offer all you need to pursue a career in the law and many carry leading accreditations. Our single honours LLB degree, all of our law-major combined honours LLBs and our Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies (incorporating the Common Professional Examination) are fully accredited and recognised by the Joint Academic Stage Board of the Bar Standards Board. They regulate and validate the awards granted by UK course providers by representing solicitors' and barristers' professions through their regulatory bodies, the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board.

Our courses are regulated by the UK leading bodies to ensure quality and value

Once our law students have been awarded an LSBU qualification they automatically meet the requirements of the Academic Stage of legal education and are eligible to progress onto the Vocational Stage. To do this they'll be looking to take the Legal Practice Course for intending solicitors or the Bar Professional Training Course for intending barristers.

Our qualifications are widely recognised and over many years our graduates have been successful in a wide range of diverse legal and non-legal careers in the UK and overseas. Occasionally we arrange recognition on behalf of one of our graduates with a particular institution or professional body.

Internationally, we have links with Law faculties in the Belarusian State University, Universitie de Cergy Pontoise in France, INHOLLAND University in the Netherlands and the University of Zagreb in Croatia.
