Research across the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences is managed by our Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR). The institute's vision is to develop and maintain international recognition for their innovative research and educational activities in key areas.
Our department is research active with staff working in the Centre for Educational Research which organises research across a number of themes and groups. Academic staff regularly publish in peer reviewed and professional journals and books. We also encourage and give our students opportunities to take part in research activities.

We have a vibrant community of EdD students studying our Professional Doctorates in Education as well as those studying on our PhD programme.
We also have more than 90 Masters students following our MA courses which lead to a research dissertation.
