Respected for our facilities

State-of-the-art workspaces and equipment are the focus for student project work

Keyworth Media Centre

Our purpose-built teaching and digital arts and media production facilities are based in the Keyworth Media Centre; an innovative hub at the core of our Southwark campus. Through a successful funding bid our Digital Media Laboratory has recently been upgraded.

LSBU's technical facilities are equivalent to a modern production company's and their video and editing equipment is constantly updated.

Modern technology

Our eight laboratories hold 123 Apple G5 Intel computers that run all the major software packages you'd expect to find in a professional environment. Our specialist areas feature dedicated and high-end production including video editing suites, audio mix studio, audio booths and a photographic studio with printing and scanning facilities. They are the focus of project work for both our undergraduate and postgraduate students. Students have their own individual accounts and dedicated server space that enable them to work on any computer in any room.

All our software packages are the current versions and are updated every year with a new image build. They include:

  • Apple Final Cut Studio
  • Autodesk 3DS Max
  • Virtools
  • Apple Logic
  • Audio Hi Jack pro
