Looking for accommodation in the private rented sector can be a daunting task especially if it is the first time and you are unsure where to start. Therefore the Accommodation Office has a number of information leaflets available to assist students who require private accommodation, all of which are available either by mail, email, intranet and for collection from the Accommodation Office and a few are available to download below.
Updated on a weekly basis we have a Private Landlord list which includes available flats, houses, bedsits and shared accommodation as well as a Flat Share list for those who would prefer to live with other students within the private sector.
Our Letting Agents List provides information on Agents that are operating in the local area and includes contact telephone numbers, business addresses and where available email and website addresses.
We also have a Guide to Private Accommodation that gives helpful information and useful tips to assist you when looking for a place to live.
We also produce two guides containing information on hotels and hostels, one is a list of short term accommodation and the other is a list of long term accommodation. The short term hotel and hostel guide is particularly useful for those looking for private accommodation but need a base while they search for the right place, the hotel and hostels vary widely in price (the cheapest is approximately £18 per night for a bed in a shared dormitory). The long term hotel and hostel guide lists places that can provide accommodation for long periods of time, some can offer accommodation for as long as a year.
