Rosabell qualified as a Nurse in 1991 from Thames Valley University. She practised in Acute Medicine and Rehabilitative Care until commencing Midwifery Studies at King’s College London. She graduated with a BSc (Hons) Midwifery in 1994. Rosabell then returned to Trinidad and practised within a Women’s Hospital in Gynaecology and Maternity until 1999 before returning to London. Practical Midwifery experiences were gained in a range of areas before moving to the role of Clinical Placement Facilitator. During this time, Rosabell did an MA in Education and is now a Senior Lecturer at London South Bank University. Her Link-Lecturer areas are Royal London Hospital and interim link at Newham University Hospital.

Rosabell facilitates teaching across both the short and long programmes in Midwifery. Teaching interests span Infant Feeding and she is currently the Department’s Lead on this area. Rosabell also has an interest in teaching on mechanisms and processes to support transparency in practice such as clinical investigations, audit processes, clinical governance, root cause analysis, reflection, professional, ethical and legal frameworks in practice. There is also an interest in supporting Normality in Midwifery practice. The emphasis is on critical analysis of policy drivers and the role of the Midwife within different birth settings. Rosabell is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy.

Rosabell undertook a small scale qualitative study of student experiences of the role of the Clinical Placement Facilitator as part of a Masters programme.
