Priti is currently a Midwifery senior lecturer in the School of Health and social care at London South Bank University, with affiliations to the Barking, Havering & Redbridge NHS trust (BHRUT). Priti previously worked in the National Health Service in Women and Children's health, as a registered midwife since 1999 at St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester, after which she moved to BHRUT in 2002.

Priti’s practice has always been driven by seeking innovative ways to improve women's health and provide safe and effective care to women and their families. This passion had driven Priti to become an experienced midwife and educator. This encompasses multiple roles, such as personal tutor, module lead, cohort lead and link lecturer. Alongside this, Priti is the Course Director for the Pre-registration BSc Hons Midwifery course. This incorporates collaboratively working at a strategic level to ensure the quality of education and support is maintained to a high educational standard.

Current role involves providing practice education to undergraduate and postgraduate midwifery students across the entire curriculum, to develop their skills in professionalism, assessment of risk and delivering safe practice to women and their families. Priti has also worked collaboratively to develop a new curriculum for revalidation.

Areas of teaching commitment and interest – Emergency care within a maternity setting, such as obstetric emergencies. Pharmacology in relation to Midwifery, simulation and innovation within education.

  • NMC - registered Midwife and Educator

Member of the PAN London Midwifery Practice Education Advisory Group to provide a standardised assessment document for all London universities.
