Philip Lockett has been Pro Dean at the Faculty of Engineering, Science and the Built Environment since 2010, managing curriculum development and approval, faculty course portfolio, student recruitment, partnerships, marketing and student discipline.
He has implemented a review of the Faculty's portfolio and increased full time recruitment by 25 per cent in the first year to meet increased funded numbers from HEFCE.
Philip was previously Head of School at the University of Hertfordshire from 1999 to 2009, where he managed staff who supported cross university programmes, English Language teaching, preparatory programmes for overseas students, and UK and International partnerships.
Prior to this role he was Senior/Principal Lecturer at University of Hertfordshire from 1987 to1999, co-ordinating cross university programmes, and Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering teaching. He was also Research, Assistant/Research Fellow at University of Hertfordshire between 1982-1987 in Metal Forming and Process Engineering.
Philip studied for his BA and MA in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge between 1978-1981.
