Before beginning his nursing career, Myles volunteered as a community first responder with the South East Coast Ambulance Service. Myles studied a BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing degree at London South Bank University and chose to spend his elective placement with the Institute of Vocational Learning. He joined the team in 2015 as a Lecturer.

Myles’ clinical areas of interest are accident and emergency nursing, nursing research and nursing education.

Myles has published and co-authored a number of nursing education articles and he is a peer reviewer for the Nursing Standard Journal.

In the future, Myles would like to complete a PhD researching the topic of expedition nursing practice.

Myles teaches development training workshops for registered healthcare staff and the support workforce in London. Myles is module leader for a variety of modules on the following accredited courses:

Myles is a qualified Mountain Leader and regularly leads groups of people in UK mountainous terrain in summer conditions. He has also been an expedition medic for international trekking expeditions.
