Paul has worked on a variety of projects for different research sponsors including HSE, Sellafield Ltd, and National Nuclear Laboratory. These projects include the use of water sprays and fogs for explosion control, dispersion and explosion of hydrogen, ignition phenomena, and runaway reactions during nuclear fuel reprocessing ("red-oil" reactions).
His skills include the use of reaction calorimetry, laser-diffraction particle sizing, laser-Doppler velocimetry, high-speed filming and schlieren photography.
