Carolyn Harris is a Senior Lecturer in the Institute of Vocational Learning. She trained as a Registered Nurse for Learning Disabilities at the Royal Earlswood Hospital in Redhill, Surrey in the 1980's, with a particular interest in caring for individuals with multiple disabilities. She gained a teaching qualification from Greenwich University and taught in the Romford School of Nursing and later in the Redwood School of Nursing, which transferred to the School of Health and Social Care in London South Bank University in 1994. Carolyn gained her MSc in Strategic Leadership and Expert Practice in 2007.

Carolyn taught on Pre-registration courses and Post-registration courses before becoming involved in vocational education. Carolyn was Course Director for the NVQ qualifications and later the Diploma in Health and Social Care qualifications accredited against the Qualification Credit Framework. 

Carolyn's current interests lie in providing high quality training and education to enhance the care and practice of the Bands 1-4 workforce.

Carolyn is the Course Director for the University Certificate of Competence in Principles of Healthcare Practice.

Carolyn additionally develops workshops and teaches on a variety of subjects for the Bands 1-4 workforce.
