LSBU open for Clearing

London South Bank University's (LSBU) Clearing call centre has been buzzing with calls since the phone lines opened at 7.30 this morning, with LSBU's 100+ strong team of trained staff and student advisers taking over 1000 calls in the first two hours.

There were also more than 2,000 hits to LSBU's Clearing webpages by 9.30am this morning and dozens of applications made online at

Lynn Grimes, Director of Marketing & UK Student Recruitment at LSBU said: "Our Clearing phone lines are definitely busier than at the same time on day one last year and we've already been able to close some of our health courses.

"Our PgDip in both Adult and Children's Nursing are closed for new applicants, as is BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice, BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing, PgDip Therapeutic Radiography, BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography, as well as BSc and MSc Social Work.

"Other courses that were noticeably popular from the outset included engineering and there were a lot of calls coming in early this morning. We expect to remain busy until our lines close for the day at 8pm tonight and we open again at 8am tomorrow."

Clearing phone lines will be open from 7.30am - 8pm on Friday 16 August and from 8am - 6pm during the week commencing 19 August and LSBU will also be hosting Clearing open days on Saturday 17 August, Wednesday 21 August and Wednesday 28 August.
