Vanessa - who graduated this October with first class honours from the National Bakery School's BSc Baking Technology Management  - received her award at a lavish ceremony at London's Guildhall and said: "Becoming a Freeman is going to be an exciting experience. Everyone was so welcoming and the opportunities that will arise from it will be so special.

"I need to thank everyone at the National Bakery School that helped me along my way. I will never forget this is where it all started for me."

Founded in 1894, LSBU's National Bakery School is the oldest bakery school in the world. Today, it enjoys an international reputation for courses designed in consultation with leading heads of industry.
